Easter is here!
I linger at the
window where
I see the crystal
chandelier in the
next building,
shedding its light
through its window as darkness chills the air. I wonder
at the fleeing of the shadows as its sun-like rays pierce
the darkness, and travelers cross the parking lot in
safety to the door of their building. I think of God’s
light, coming into
the darkness of my
life, chasing away
shadows of fear,
reminding me of
His victory at the
cross, bringing
me life in His ways,
rather than in my
own of selfishness
and bitterness.
Hunger and thirst
are satisfied by
the joy of His
presence filling
my cup. Now
flowers bloom
where weeds once
choked my heart.
